While many of us are very familiar with the 1978 film adaption of the musical, which stars Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta in the lead roles of Sandy and Danny, the stage production actually came first, premiering in Chicago in 1971.

With iconic and beloved musical numbers such as Summer Nights, Greased Lightnin' Hopelessly Devoted To You and You’re The One That I Want among many more, Grease still remains as one of the most successful musicals of all time.

The production of Grease The Musical that is heading to Newcastle this summer is produced by Colin Ingram for InTheatre Productions, Playing Field, Gavin Kalin and Curve, and has been directed by Nikolai Foster and choreographed by Strictly Come Dancing’s former judge Arlene Phillips.
