Newcastle’s Life Science Centre rated best visitor attraction in England

As the attraction approaches its 25th birthday, it has been given a prestigious accolade.

Newcastle’s Life Science Centre has been given the impressive title of ‘best visitor attraction in England’.

The unique and educational science attraction, has been offering hands-on science experiences for families since 2000, and has now been acknowledged ahead of attractions such as the National Portrait Gallery, London Transport Museum and Bletchley Park.

The prestigious title was independently rated from global benchmarking company BVA BDRC, which scored the Life Science Centre 100% in various areas including quality of activities, experiencing a sense of discovery, inspiration and making visitors feel valued.

Overall, the BVA BDRC rated Newcastle’s Life Science Centre a score of 90% - the highest score for a visitor attraction in England, with praise for their “passionate and friendly staff”, “positively amazing life show” and for “exceeded expectations”.

Chief Executive for Life Science Centre, Linda Conlon said: “We are delighted to receive this accolade which is testament to the passion and dedication of our team and to the positive response to an ongoing programme of investment in the centre.

“Stand-out changes include a £1.5m investment programme that has delivered a collection of fun, hands-on exhibits in Wow Zone and an upgrade to our planetarium to create a truly immersive experience for visitors.”
