Allan Saint-Maximin is pushing for a Newcastle United return at Fulham after missing games against Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth through injury.

Allan Saint-Maximin has teased a potential Newcastle United comeback at Fulham this weekend.

The Frenchman has missed the Magpies’ last three games with a hamstring injury sustained in the 1-1 draw at Wolverhampton Wanderers, where Saint-Maximin scored a stunning last-minute equaliser.

It was hoped the 25-year-old would return for the visit of Bournemouth last time out, however Eddie Howe confirmed after the 1-1 draw that the winger had suffered a minor setback and was unsure if he’d be available to face Fulham.

“He has had a very minor setback with the physio,” Howe said. “Whether or not he’ll be fit after the international break is slightly unclear, but’s certainly not long-term. It’s not clear if he’ll be fit for our next game yet.”

Saint-Maximin, however, has hinted at a return against the Cottagers on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 3pm) via a three-word tweet saying “back at it” along with an eyes emoji.

The tweet was also accompanied with a video in which Saint-Maximin danced to show off his next goal celebration.

Certainly, Newcastle will be hoping Craven Cottage is Saint-Maximin’s dancefloor having struggled to break down the likes of Crystal Palace and Bournemouth without him.
