Newcastle United made it SIX unbeaten in the Premier League with a 1-0 win over Everton.

Newcastle United recorded yet another win at St James’ Park to take their unbeaten run in the Premier League to six games.

A Miguel Almiron strike - another contender for goal of the season - was enough to ensure all three points remained on Tyneside in a 1-0 win over Everton.

The victory takes United to 18 points and would have been enough to see them climb to fifth, but for Manchester United’s victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

And here’s how Eddie Howe reacted to the win, including that stunner by Almiron.

Yeah, it was a hard-fought win,” Howe said. “I don’t think it was our best performance with the ball tonight but defensively we were very good. Very disciplined.

“It was a real battle in the midfield. I thought it was a very physical game. Big compliments to the players to what they’ve given to get three points.

Everton are a team that ask you a lot of questions. Aerially, (Jordan) Pickford’s distribution… there were a lot of balls going down the heart of our team and we had to find the answers to that. I thought we dealt with their aerial threat very well.

“In general play, I thought our structure and shape was good. Nick (Pope) didn’t have too much to do with his hands but he had quite a bit to do with his feet in terms of sweeping up balls in behind. Full credit to the whole team for how we defended.”
