Newcastle United’s owners are looking to persuade Neymar Jr to join the Saudi Pro League.

Newcastle United’s owners have their eyes set on Neymar Jr.

According to reports, PIF are looking to make an eye-watering offer to try and persuade the world’s most expensive footballer to move to the Saudi Pro League.

And with the Brazilian’s current team PSG allegedly looking to offload the player CBS claim the Saudis have sent a delegation to Paris to discuss a move for the 31-year-old.

It was announced last week PIF now own 75 per cent of the top four teams in the Saudi Pro League and are looking to finance four marquee international signings for each team. Cristiano Ronaldo moved to second-place Al-Nassr earlier in the year and Karim Benzema was the first big name player to move to the Middle East in this window.

The ex-Real Madrid man will be playing for league winners Al-Ittihad but reports suggest the Brazilian would be headed to Al-Hilal.

At the time, a PIF statement read: “The transfer of the four clubs will unleash various commercial opportunities, including investment, partnership and sponsorships across numerous sports.”

The jury’s still out when it comes to what PIF’s domestic sports moves will mean for their Premier League side. Some believe it could lead to high profile loans to the Magpies, while others have claimed it could result in an internal competition for talent.

In the midst of his first Brazilian call-up, Joelinton was asked by the media about the possibility of having Neymar at Newcastle.

“Everything he brings to a club is unbelievable,” he said. “Quality tends to get a lot of talk and one more Brazilian would be very good.

“You’d have to talk to the coach. I don’t know. But get out of the press. The press speaks. They also follow several names, but I don’t know who will come.”

Newcastle United beat Al-Hilal 5-0 in a friendly in Riyadh last year.
