Newcastle United travel to Blackburn Rovers tomorrow night - with manager John Eustace claiming his side are under "no pressure" ahead of the FA Cup tie

Blackburn Rovers manager John Eustace has called Newcastle United “one of the best” teams in Europe before their FA Cup fifth-round clash.

The Magpies brushed shoulders with the continent’s elite this season, although the outcome did not go to plan. Eddie Howe’s men won just one of their six Champions League outings - crashing out after a 2-1 defeat to AC Milan at St James’ Park.

Lessons were ultimately learned from Newcastle’s first foray into Europe for over a decade. While Premier League form has stuttered, the FA Cup provides another opportunity for United to tussle in UEFA competition next season.

Blackburn stand in Newcastle’s way of reaching their second quarter-final in 18 years. Newly-appointed boss Eustace hailed the Magpies as a formidable outfit and insisted his Rovers players will have no fear tomorrow night.

"I think it's a really exciting game,” Eustace told reporters. “It's big for the fans, big for the players. They will be playing against top players in Europe. It's a really exciting night for the fans to really see a special night hopefully.

"The FA Cup is a special competition, we're looking forward to the night and playing one of the best sides in Europe, one of the best in the Premier League. They have fantastic players, so it will be a big test.

“They're one of the best in Europe and the Premier League so it will be a difficult game. We have to concentrate on our own jobs, we have to enjoy the night first and foremost. There is no pressure on us, we want to go out and express ourselves to see where it takes us.

"We have to go and enjoy the night, the lads can't wait for the game. It gives the lads the opportunity to showcase what we can do."
