Newcastle United expected starting XI v AC Milan after Martin Dubravka, Sean Longstaff & Anthony Gordon training ground concern.

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has given little away on the injury front ahead of tonight's Champions League decider at home to AC Milan (kick-off 8pm).

The Magpies host Milan at St James' Park needing to win and for Paris Saint-Germain to drop points away to Borussia Dortmund in order to qualify for the last 16.

United were without 10 senior players for Sunday's defeat at Tottenham Hotspur. Ahead of facing Milan, Howe refused to play down speculation surrounding Sean Longstaff, Anthony Gordon and Martin Dubravka's fitness.

The trio missed Tuesday morning's training session in front of the TV cameras and when asked about each player, Howe remained predictably coy.

"Yes and no, you can read whatever you want into it," Howe replied. We're two days after a game so we're obviously trying to manage players and we'll see who is fit for tomorrow. I've just given you nothing there!"

And when pressed on Dubravka's injury status, Howe said: "That is slightly unclear."

Indeed, that puts former Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius on standby, although Howe is reluctant to rotate his goalkeepers having already lost No.1 Nick Pope to injury.

"It's not a position I want to rotate to be honest," Howe added. "The team benefits from having a settled goalkeeper and back four, that's always been my way of working with my defensive structure. But let's see what tomorrow brings."
