Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt another injury blow as they battle Newcastle United for a top four spot.

Newcastle United’s Premier League top four rivals Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt a fresh injury blow this week.

Ben Davies, a regular for Spurs under Antonio Conte, is set to miss the next six weeks after picking up a hamstring injury in the 3-3 draw at Southampton.

As the result, the defender will likely miss a defining run of fixtures where the North London club face the likes of Brighton & Hove Albion, Newcastle, Manchester United and Liverpool.

Spurs have had a tough time with injuries of late. Key midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur is ruled out for the remainder of the campaign, while Hugo Loris, Yves Bissouma and Ryan Sessegnon are also on the sidelines. There is some doubt over Richarlison’s fitness too after former Everton striker withdrew from the Brazil squad.

Eddie Howe’s Magpies sit two points behind Tottenham in the Premier League with two games in-hand. Conte could be sacked in the coming days amid reports Spurs are hoping to hold talks with former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann.

Newcastle face Manchester United, West Ham United, Brentford and Aston Villa before hosting Spurs in a potential Champions League qualification decider at St James’ Park on April 23.
