The staggering amount Newcastle United paid to agents in 21-22 v Leeds, West Ham & Aston Villa

Premier League clubs paid a staggering £318,219,426 to intermediaries and agents between February 1 2022 to 31 January 2022.

A statement released by the FA on Friday read: “Each season we publish the payments and transactions involving Intermediaries registered in England in accordance with FIFA’s Regulations on Working with Intermediaries. “The following details in relation to payments and transactions involving Intermediaries registered in England are available to download below:

“The total payments made by clubs in the Premier League, EFL and National League System to Intermediaries registered in England from 1st February 2022 to 31st January 2023

“The single payments involving each Intermediary registered in England from 1st February 2022 to 31st January 2023

“Please note, the transactions listed involving each Intermediary between 1st February 2022 and 31st January 2023 do not necessarily relate directly to the total payment figure per club. These payments may have been in relation to transactions that started before 1st February 2022.”

During that time, Newcastle United were heavily acted in the transfer market, bringing in Kieran Trippier, Chris Wood, Bruno Guimaraes, Dan Burn, Matt Targett, Nick Pope, Sven Botman and Alexander Isak.
