The St James’ Park atmosphere will hopefully be spread around Newcastle.

Newcastle United’s home games have been made incredibly special thanks to the hard work of Wor Flags.

The fan group has persisted in creating an unforgettable and magical atmosphere in St James’ Park all season, but as the summer months roll in the displays could become more permanent.

Toon fan Richie Southern took to Twitter to pose a question to Geordies, writing: ‘Is there any unsightly unloved walls in Newcastle that could be turned into NUFC related murals?

‘There’s an abundance of talented creatives that could make something special. And being in the CL & welcoming fans from across Europe, it feels like like a good time to do it.’

This suggestion was met with a lot of support from other Mags, leading Richie to say: ‘Next venture for @worflags

‘“Wor Murals,”’ an idea the fan group were all too pleased with, replying: ‘We have genuinely thought about this for a while. Some fantastic local artists amongst our fan base who could do some stunning work if there were any locations interested.’

Many have suggested the abandoned building on Westmorland Road, in prime position for fans making their way to St James’ Park.

But I’m sure Geordies would love to see a few pop up around the city to celebrate the team’s success and show their love to their club.
