New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Gateshead’s pubs, bars or nightclubs, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them both.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Gateshead’s pubs, bars or nightclubs, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them both.

The Tudor Rose, at Collingwood Terrace, Dunston, Gateshead was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on May 26.

And Three Tuns Inn, at Durham Road, Birtley, Chester Le Street was also given a score of five on May 25.

It means that of Gateshead's 166 pubs, bars and nightclubs with ratings, 103 (62%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
