A Newcastle takeaway has been handed a new five-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Greggs, a takeaway at Unit 10 Denton Park Shopping Centre, West Denton, Newcastle Upon Tyne was given the maximum score after assessment on December 16, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of Newcastle's 315 takeaways with ratings, 198 (63%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
