North Tyneside road closures: five for motorists to avoid this week

North Tyneside's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A19, from 8pm April 20 to 6am June 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Seaton Burn to Howdon, mobile lane closure for inspection/survey works.

And a further four closures will begin over the next seven days:

A19, from 8pm June 13 to 6am June 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 southbound, Howden, Lane closures for sign erection works for TT2.

A19, from 8pm June 13 to 6am June 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Fisher Lane to Moor Farm, Lane closure for horticultural works.

A19, from 8pm June 17 to 6am June 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Killingworth to Holystone, Lane closure for horticultural works.

A19, from 8pm June 22 to 6am June 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 southbound, Silverlink to Tyne Tunnel, Lane closure for grass cutting.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
