North Tyneside's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

North Tyneside's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A19, from 8pm February 21 to 6am May 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Killingworth, slip road closures for street lighting works.

A19, from 8pm December 6 2021 to 6am May 7 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Holystone, carriageway closures for structures work.

A19, from 8pm April 20 to 6am June 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Seaton Burn to Howdon, mobile lane closure for inspection/survey works.

And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:

A19, from 8pm April 27 to 6am April 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound, Holystone Interchange, Lane closure on exit slip road for electrical works.

A19, from 8pm May 4 to 6am May 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Killingworth, slip road closures for horticultural works.

A19, from 8pm May 9 to 6am May 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Killingworth, slip road closure for Horticultural works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
