Road closures: three for North Tyneside drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around North Tyneside will have three National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around North Tyneside will have three National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing a wait of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A19, from 8pm August 24 to 6am August 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Killingworth to Holystone, Lane closure for drainage works.

A19, from 8pm July 2 to 6am November 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Moorfarm to Killingworth, carriageway closures and 24hr lane closures for resurfacing works.

And one more closure will begin over the next two weeks:

A19, from 8pm August 29 to 6am September 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Silver link to Howdon, Lane closure for drainage works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
