A South Tyneside restaurant has been handed a new five-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Latimers Seafood, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at Latimers Fish Deli And Cafe, Whitburn Bents Road, Whitburn, Tyne & Wear was given the maximum score after assessment on August 2, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of South Tyneside's 174 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 113 (65%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
