A South Tyneside restaurant has been handed a new four-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

A South Tyneside restaurant has been handed a new four-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

The National Trust, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at Souter Lighthouse, Coast Road, Whitburn, Tyne & Wear was given the score after assessment on September 20, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of South Tyneside's 173 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 110 (64%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
