First residents move into new homes on new housing development in Elswick

Bellway North East is working with Amethyst Homes to build 124 new homes on a 12-acre site off Westmorland Road, on the edge of Newcastle city centre.

The construction progressing well, the Bellway division, which is providing 79 of the new homes, handed over the keys to the first three customers in June and another four in July.

The housebuilder is building a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes at the development which are constructed using timber frame panels instead of traditional breeze blocks behind brickwork to speed up the delivery of new housing.

All homes have a garage or allocated parking and electric vehicle charging points, with 23 properties benefiting from solar panels to help residents reduce their energy use and carbon emissions.
