Beaconhill Primary School in Cramlington has received a donation from local house builder, David Wilson Homes, which has its West Meadows @ Arcot Estate development near to the school. The donation was put towards enhancing the school’s outdoor learning facilities with the installation of a sandpit for the pupils to enjoy.

The team at West Meadows at Arcot Estate development, which is just a two-minute drive from Beaconhill Primary School, were pleased to support when the Headteacher reached out to request help for its outdoor learning area. The school’s outdoor environment focuses on the use of natural resources and follows the theme of building, and the addition of the sandpit will further improve the outdoor learning space, and benefit the students at Beaconhill Primary School for years to come

Speaking on the donation, Joel Routledge, Headteacher at Beaconhill Primary School, said: “We are extremely grateful to David Wilson Homes for their generous donation, which has allowed us to improve our outdoor learning facilities. We would also like to thank Branch and Bone as they have done a wonderful job in bringing this to life. Outdoor play is an essential component of childhood development, and the addition of the sandpit will allow our students to explore, create, and learn in new ways. The children are always enthusiastic when using the sandpit!”
