The session, which lasts approximately two hours, will see full professional analysis of two people’s technique to improve their golfing style. This is available across the UK with the closest course hosting the sessions being in Cramlington, Northumberland and Stanley in County Durham.

Closer to the city centre, Virgin Experience Days also offer a city sightseeing tour by helicopter. Guided by the pilot of the craft, anyone on the experience will have the chance to see unique views of Newcastle and the surrounding area. Sessions are available to see the stunning scenery of both Durham and Newcastle as well as 21 other locations around the country.

For any Newcastle United superfan, there’s no better gift than a trip to St James Park, and this year you can give them a once in a lifetime experience with a rooftop tour of the famous stadium.

With two experts, anyone who has a head for heights can head to the top of St James Park to see unparallelled views across the pitch, wider stadium and Newcastle’s incredible skyline from three different viewing points over 90 minutes.

If heights don’t sound like your friend’s idea of a good time, plenty of restaurants, bars and hotels across the city offer bottomless brunch and afternoon tea deals throughout the year, while if the drinking aspect of those sounded good, ExperienceDays offer the chance to spend a day making whisky while wine tasting is available to book through Blackfriars Restaurant and beer fans can get booked onto a Newcastle Brewery tour.
