Michelle Heaton is the latest celebrity to appear on the upcoming season of the hit ITV show Dancing on Ice.

The former Liberty X singer joins Patsy Palmer, John Fashanu and more on the 15th series  of Dancing on Ice.

The official twitter account of the show has been slowly revealing celebrities set to take to the ice next year.

Announcing the news about Michelle, the account said: “@wonderwomanshel is hoping to give us Just A Little more on the ice #DancingOnIce @ITV.”

Patsy Palmer was confirmed as the first celebrity to take part on the show, with the actress turned DJ joining an illustrious line of soap stars to appear on the show.

After her, John Fashanu was confirmed, with the former footballer most known for being part of the infamous FA Cup winning Wimbledon team dubbed ‘the crazy gang’.

Who is Michelle Heaton?

Michelle Christine Heaton is an English pop singer, actress and television personality born in Gateshead, Newcastle. She rose to fame as a member of pop group Liberty X for six years from 2001 until 2007 when they split up.

She became a member of the band due to her appearance on Popstars. The winners of the show, including Kym Marsh formed Hear’Say, whilst the runners up became part of Liberty X.

The band achieved great success, and had seven Top 10 singles from 2001 to 2005.

Their biggest hit, "Just a Little", reached Number 1 in May 2002, whilst other hits such as “Thinking It Over", "Got To Have Your Love", "Song 4 Lovers", and "Holding on for You" all reached the top 5 in the UK Singles Chart.

Their debut album, Thinking It Over, reached Number 3 in June 2002. Liberty X released another 2 albums, Being Somebody and X, which reached Numbers 12 and 27, respectively.

During her time in the band, Heaton regularly contributed a column to the Hotstars section of OK! Magazine.

She has been married to businessman Hugh Hanley since 2010 and the couple have two children together, aged ten and eight.

In 2012, the year of the birth of her first child, Heaton was diagnosed with a mutated BRCA2 gene and then found out that she had an 80 percent chance of developing breast cancer and a 30 percent chance of developing ovarian cancer.

This revelation led Heaton to having a double mastectomy and had breast reconstructive surgery in the same year.

In 2021, Heaton appeared on ITV’s Loose Women to speak about her alcohol addiction and her stint in rehab.
