Acclaimed chefs announced For Leazes Park’s Newcastle Food Festival
Over the weekend of Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1, festival-goers can enjoy captivating demonstrations from some of Tyneside’s top chefs, including independent business owners and expert Head Chefs.
In partnership with MasterChef’s Anthony O’Shaughnessy, who is returning as host and compère, guests can learn from some of the best food minds the North East has to offer.

The first day of the event will kick off with a cook-off between two top up and coming chefs from Newcastle College before a demonstration from Fozia Haider, a community leader from Gateshead who helps victims of social injustice and disadvantaged communities. She will perform alongside someone who has gone on to launch their own catering business thanks to the work done by Haider and her team.
Anthony O’Shaughnessy himself will also give his tips and tricks to atendees as part of the event while two additional Saturday demonstrations are set to be announced over the coming weeks.
Sunday morning begins with the second round of Newcastle’s Next Best Chef 2025 following the previous day’s cook-off before Richard Cullen of Kiln in Ouseburn shows off his skills.
The weekend will be rounded off with demonstrations from 2Knives Kitchen of Hoult’s Yard and Chris Rowlinson of Zuccini before Masterchef alumni Anthony O’Shaughnessy returns fo his second show of the weekend.

Hide Ad“Heading into our second year, we wanted to create a new experience for attendees, so we’re introducing ‘Live Cook-Offs’ to really get the audience involved. We also want every hour to offer something unique, and the diverse range of demonstrations we have lined-up achieves that” said Event Director Michael Johnston.
