The venue, on Eldon Place, was opened last month by the Northumberland Restaurant Company and provides an offering of bagels that are filled with a combination of British and US ingredients.
As well as the homemade bagels, customers at the tearoom also have the choice of a breakfast, brunch and afternoon tea offerings.

The bagels come in a variety of flavours, such as plain, sesame, cheese and chives, onion and garlic, and more.
Claremont Tea Rooms offer a broad choice of fillings, including the New York City classic ‘The Reuben’, which can be served hot or cold and is filled with pastrami, emmental cheese, mustard mayo, gherkins and sauerkraut.


Stuart Young, the owner of Claremont Tea Rooms, has spoken about how the food offering has been received since the venue opened.
He said: “We’ve had an incredible response since the day we opened and we are delighted that our unique menu is going down so well.”

Some of the other bagel fillings include the ‘Classic All Dayer’ - a twist of a full English breakfast that includes sausage, bacon, egg, hash brown and cheese.
In a nod to the USA, there is the ‘Morning After’, with maple-glazed bacon and cream cheese, the ‘Nashville Fried Chicken’, with hot sauce, green goddess slaw, pickles and chives, as well as the ‘Downtown Clover’, filled with falafel, hummus, chopped salad, pickled cabbage and vegan garlic mayo.
The homemade bagels are also available from the tearoom’s sister comapny, Dot Bagel on Chillingham Road.
Claremont Tea Rooms has also confirmed that there are vegan versions of the majority of their bagels, with the full offering avaialble to either eat in or take out.
