“Throughout the week, we’ll be throwing the spotlight on pizza and encouraging consumers, suppliers and businesses to celebrate one of the UK’s favourite foods. Why not treat yourself to a piping hot slice of pizza and join in the fun this National Pizza Week.”

Every year UK consumers spend over £5 billion on pizzas, National Pizza Week have revealed in their “Pizza Facts” section of their website. Of these, over 80% are purchased from restaurants and takeaways, with more than a quarter delivered piping hot to consumers at home.

What reviewers said: “Took our son here who is studying at Newcastle and it was really impressive. Great choice of pizzas and even the half and half option was great. They feed three easily! and the garlic petals were ace too. Lovely service as well. The place is small so booking is a good idea.”

What reviewers said: “Best pizza in Newcastle hands down. We have been getting take away for years and would always recommend. For the last year or so I have really got into Italian cuisine and try to make authentic Italian dishes at home, this has only made my appreciation for pizza Italian go up. So fortunate to have this gem on my doorstep. Truly authentic and you can tell just by looking at it. Fresh, simple food that is absolutely delicious

4: La Famiglia

  • Tripadvisor Rating: 5/5

What reviewers said: “This is a hidden gem that must be tried. Staff were great but the food was outstanding. Some excellent specials but the pizzas are superb. The best tuna and garlic pizza I’ve ever had was the long gone silver giraffe in Ryton. This is one of the few restaurants that also does a tuna and garlic pizza and it was fantastic! OMG how I missed having a good quality tuna and garlic pizza with as requested a hint of chilli.”

What reviewers said: “I placed an order for takeout and was able to pick it up 20 minutes later with no problems. This place has a really fabulous selection of toppings and even bases. You can try out some wacky stuff, and each of the ingredients is fresh and well prepared. I found the standard pizza to be enough for one hungry adult with a couple of slices left over at the end.”
