This year’s National Afternoon Tea Week starts on Monday, August 7 and runs until Sunday, August 13 and we’re lucky there are so many amazing options on where to go across Newcastle for the meal.

Based on Google reviews, these are some of the top rated places to go for afternoon tea in and around Newcastle.

Based in the heart of trendy Ouseburn, Dreamworld Cakes offer an afternoon tea deal which includes a selection of mini patisserie items, sandwiches and freshly baked scones along with a hot drink.

It is served between 11:30am and 3pm between Wednesday and Saturday each week as well as 11:30am until 1pm on Sundays at a cost of £18.50 per person and £7 for children under 11 years old.

Those looking to turn their experience into more of an event are also in luck thanks to a series of high end afternoon tea options across the city.

Jesmond Dene House

Sat in the picturesque area of the park sharing its name, Jesmond Dene House has been a favourite for those looking for a classy way to celebrate occasions in Newcastle for years. Their current afternoon tea deal offers diners scones, sandwiches, scones, a savoury snack and a patisserie at prices ranging from £32.50 to £44.

Vermont Hotel

Back in the centre of the city, the Vermont Hotel’s afternoon tea options start from £9.95 for a cream tea while a full traditional afternoon tea comes to £22.95 per person.

The larger option includes finger sandwiches, scones, preservatives and clotted cream as well as a series of sweet treats alongside tea or coffee.

The site also offers an alternative afternoon tea which includes a scotch egg, Vermont burger and pork pie with cheese and fries for the same price.
