Some top restaurants and supermarkets are offering free food for children this Easter school holiday.
The rising cost of living has meant families are needing to stretch their money further than ever in 2023, and plenty of companies are looking to help out and ensure everyone can still enjoy a meal out while kids aren’t in schools.
The supermarket is often offering cheap meals during school holidays at their in-store restaurants and cafes across the region. This year they are giving kids the chance to eat for £1 all day, every day with no adult spend across the full break.
Beefeater and Brewers Fayre
Up to two under 16s can get a free breakfast every day with one paying adult at Beefeater and Brewers Fayre sites across the country.
Newcastle’s local Brewers Fayre can be found at the Derwent Crossing in Gateshead.
Eldon Square is home to Newcastle’s only Bella Italia, where families can eat for £1 with any adult main meal. This offer is valid between 4pm and 6pm on Monday – Thursday.
The popular pub and restaurant chain are offering the chance for kids to eat for £1 between Monday and Saturday throughout the summer. All customers need to do is sign up to the brand’s email club to receive a voucher.
The deal is available for two children per paying adult and the company has two sites near Newcastle, these are Valley Farm near Team Valley Trading Estate and Wheatsheaf Farm in Woolsington.
Hungry Horse pubs are offering the chance for kids to eat breakfast for free with every adult throughout the week between 9am and 12 noon.
The company’s pubs can be found throughout the region including at Newton Park on Benton Road, The Gold Medal in Gateshead and the Peregrine on Hillhead Road near West Denton.
Another option within Eldon Square is Real Greek. The chain is offering kids the chance to eat for free every Sunday for every £10 spent by an adult.
The prominent pub chain are offering weekday deals for families this summer. They are offering £1 kids meals with every adult meal from 3:00pm – 7:00pm from Monday to Friday.
Sizzling Pubs’ sites across Newcastle include The Highwayman in Gateshead as well as the Powder Monkey and Anson in Wallsend.
The famous eatery which has a branch on Grainger Street in the city centre are offering children the chance to eat for free between 3pm and 5:30pm on Monday – Thursday until September 1.
Other chains offering deals away from Newcastle include Cafe Rouge, Future Inns and Angus Steakhouse. Ikea in Gateshead are also offering kids meals from 95p every day from 11am throughout the Easter break.
