We try new bars, every Greggs ranked and more - this week's food and drink round up

Take a trip back down the last week as we round up our biggest food and drink stories across Newcastle.

Summer is nearly here, and Ouseburn is filling up more week on week. After last week’s rankings of every bar, pub and restaurant in the area, we went out there this week.

The Lockup is Ouseburn’s newest bar, and comes with a small restaurant downstairs too. Although it comes with a series of teething problems, mainly a lack of tables, the site will soon be welcoming happy visitors from across the North East to its fabulous sun terrace which will be hugely popular over the coming months!

Another of our reviews this week came from Dot Bagel out on Chillingham Road. The site has previously been labelled as one of the best places to have breakfast and brunch on the go in Newcastle, so we needed to try it out!

The main takeaway - pardon the pun - is the incredible variety in the menu, meaning there is something for everyone. That and its independent feel among the other amazing sites in Heaton mean it really stood out for us.

Don’t just take it from this round up though, read the full review here.

Away from the reviews, we had a warning from the Met Police for Newcastle United fans hoping to drink on the streets around London this weekend as Eddie Howe’s squad make their way south for the Carabao Cup Final. The warnings cover Covent Garden - where fans planned to meet on Saturday night as well as the roads around Wembley Stadium itself. Read the full list of restrictions here.

We also had a couple of our popular top rated picture stories this week, covering a range of brands from McDonalds to Greggs and even Wetherspoons.
