Nothing unusual there, but this dapper fellow would suddenly disappear.

The spooky tale happened at Manors station in Newcastle and is one of the many fascinating tales included in the online Paranormal Database.

Hide AdThe sighting happened in 1990 and a report on the database says the chap was ‘wearing a smart three-piece suit and bowler hat, and holding an umbrella.


“The phantom figure stood on the platform as if waiting for a train. The man is said to look concerned and would suddenly disappear.’
The growling child near the Keep

A small child is reputed to haunt the area of the Newcastle Keep. There were reports of stone throwing, growling sounds and strange black shapes around the Black Gate.

A woman and child had to move out of a house in the Elswick Road area after seeing the faded figure of a nun drift down a passage before vanishing.
Toys which turn themselves on in the night
There had been other activity as well including toys being activated in the early hours of the morning and items vanishing for several days at a time.
