Dobbies, the UK’s leading garden centre is hosting a free gardening workshop in its Gosforth store.

The workshop is called ‘Grow How’, and will take place on September 3 at 10:30am. The session will entail gardening experts from Dobbies giving live demonstrations on how to grow your own fruit bowl, and as they put it: “reap the fruits of your labour”.

The fruits that you will learn how to grow include blackberries, raspberries, blueberries and apples. The experts will also demonstrate techniques, and showcase the correct gardening tools to use.

As Dobbies are committed to sustainability, the workshop will also include tips on how to care for fruit trees, the benefits of using peat-free compost, organic feeds and safer pest control products.

The interactive workshop is aimed to benefit both beginners with little to no experience, and seasoned gardeners too.

Sarah Murray, Dobbies’ Partnership and Events Manager, said: “At Dobbies we are committed to doing our part to care for the planet and ensure a better tomorrow. We’re encouraging customers to attend this free workshop  to not only plant and harvest delicious fruit, but also to pass the knowledge on to friends and family so they can also grow their own.”
