Halloween marked the start of National Spa Week 2022 and lucky for us, Newcastle is home to some of the best spas in the country, worth booking a  visit this week.

National spa week aims to raise public awareness of the physical, mental and emotional benefits that regular spa attendance can offer. The benefits of visiting a spa are seemingly endless. A spa can help you de-stress, enhance your sleep, release serotonin, dopamine and much more.

It’s been a stressful year for many. The cost of living crisis and more has had a toll on most, so why not treat yourself ahead of the festive season.

Organisers of National Spa Week said: “Our 21st century lives are fast paced, more digitally influenced, and busier than ever before. In the same way regular gym attendance keeps us physically fit, regular spa attendance is an effective way to help combat the long term effects of everyday stress that we have become accustomed to living with.”

With National Spa week coming to a close, here are five spas you should visit for National Spa week 2022 in Newcastle.

Slaley Hall

This hotel also offers golf  as well as spa treatments. On the Slaley Hall website, they say that you will “Feel refreshed and revitalised at our Northumberland Spa”.

Their spa day packages start from £70 per person. All of their packages come with full use of the hotel’s leisure facilities and a complimentary robe to relax in.

Mineral House

Located in an IHG Hotel, the Mineral House website says: “There’s a perfect spa experience for everyone, giving you a chance to truly unwind.” If you want to a book a spa day from Tuesday to Thursday it’s £75, and £85 from Friday to Monday.

All spa packages include two hours use of Mineral House facilities, The Gin Board  – a choice of three Whitney Neil Gin, flavoured London Tonic and fruits. Robes, towels & slippers are provided.

City Retreat Jesmond

With a few locations in the North West, city retreat Jesmond is a perfect escape for a spa day. They have a whole host of options to choose from, allowing guests to tailor their spa day however they wish.

There is even an option to enjoy your own private spa complete with relaxation area. This is ideal for those who want to enjoy their own spa, or for a big group wishing to have a private catch up. This option starts at £59, and even comes with afternoon tea if you wish).

This place is described as the best place to “revive yourself at the end of a busy day.” It boasts a 15 metre heated swimming pool, a gym, a spa bath and more.

During a spa day, you can enjoy a set of treatments with full use of the leisure facilities, use of robes, towels and slippers as well as some food served in the Hotel’s open lobby. Their packages start from just £45, and can be viewed on their website.
