Retro arcade bar NQ64, which opened in Newcastle in August of this year has now released a brand-new cocktail menu in time for autumn. NQ64 has nine bars across the UK, and are constantly looking to up their game, and enhance the unique arcade bar experience.
The bar already has an extensive menu of game themed cocktails, but after launching a competition between members of staff across all NQ64 locations, a brand-new menu full of flavour, fun and nostalgia was created. Staff members were given the opportunity to design their very own game inspired cocktails and present them in the final at Birmingham’s NQ64. The winning cocktails were included as part of the new menu, created and decided by the NQ64 team across the UK.
The new cocktail menu includes; Super Coco Ball which is based off the Super Monkey Ball game, and rum based drink with brandy, cacao, banana, hazelnut and a Coco Pop milk blend. Mr Stay Puft, based on the Ghostbusters character, which is a marshmallow espresso martini. Mega Daisy, based on Daisy from Mario, which is a gin spritz with aperol, triple sec, elderflower, lychee and prosecco. Final Fantarita, based on the Final Fantasy game, a sour cherry margarita with tequila. Lastly, Lake Springfield which is based on The Simpsons, a sour apple whiskey drink. There are also two non-alcoholic drinks on the menu. The first one is called No Uka Uka, based on Crash Bandicoot which is made with Refresher syrup, guava, pineapple and lime. The second is Driver Spritz based on the Driver game made with crodino, candied strawberry, lemon and soda.
James Taylor, NQ64’s drink development and training manager said: “At NQ64 we are always looking for inspiration when it comes to our venues, whether this is through finding new arcade games or developing our bar menus. With drinks being such a huge part of the NQ64 experience, we always like to keep the menu fresh with new and exciting twists on game inspired cocktails, using fun and unique ingredients that result in a delicious taste.”
Alongside the brand-new cocktail menu, NQ64 are also launching up to four new arcade games across all of their UK locations. The arcade bar is also getting ready for Christmas, launching Christmas party bookings for groups of any size.
