It has been announced that TV legend Paul O’Grady will join the cast of Annie for their 2023 production of the well-loved story.
The plot of Annie focusses on young girls in an orphanage in 1930s New York, when one of the orphans - Annie, is chosen to spend Christmas with a billionaire. The successful story of Annie began as a musical theatre show in 1977, before going on to have three movies made (1982, 1999 and 2014) and many theatre productions.
Now the musical theatre production is back for 2023, and O’Grady will be taking on the role of Miss Hannigan, the head of the orphanage who hates children.
O’Grady is no stranger to musical theatre as he has previously played roles in the likes of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
