From flowers to food, and anyone looking to treat their mam to a meal is in luck with the amount of afternoon team offerings around the city. The Vermont Hotel offer a traditional afternoon tea for £21.95 per adult on Mother’s Day itself, or the site offers a regular afternoon team away from the big day for £19.95 per person.

The Mother’s Day event includes live music and this isn’t all the hotel is doing. Alongside the afternoon tea they are hosting Sunday lunch sessions between 12 noon and 8:00pm for £21.95 per adult and £10 for those under ten.

Elsewhere, Jesmond Dene House are also offering Mother’s Day meals. The site is promising a decadent afternoon tea in the hotel’s great hall in addition to live music and a glass of fizz. Prices are £42 for adults and £20 for kids while the Mother's Day lunch will take place in the Fern Dining Room. A three course meal costs £42.

Awa from food, those who are looking to buy something for anyone house-proud and a little quirky should look no further than the antiques shops across the city. Between the Fern Avenue Antiques Centre in Jesmond and Ouseburn’s Flea Circus, there are plenty of small gifts perfect for sprucing up a living space.
