We all love a gorgeous cocktail, don’t we? From the signature classics to the modern twists. However, not everyone enjoys drinking alcohol. To celebrate and encourage Sober October, and for those non-drinkers all year round, we have designed an easy to follow mocktail-crawl, located in the centre of Newcastle.
First Stop: The Alchemist
Known for his experimental cocktails and classic decor, The Alchemist is the first stop on our mocktail-crawl. It is located in Eldon Square, right on the doorstep of Monument Metro Station. The Alchemist have an exclusive non and low alcohol menu with mocktails starting from £4.25. Mocktails include new ideas such as Punchy Cucumber, and non-alcoholic twists on signature cocktails, such as a Cos-Mo.
Second Stop: No28
Leave out of the back entrance of The Alchemist and you pretty much land at No28, making it our second stop on our mocktail-crawl. All of No 28’s mocktails are priced at £4.50, options include a Blackberry Blues (made with apple juice, blackberry syrup and lemon) and a Bubblegum Lite (made with the same ingredients as above but with bubblegum syrup).
Third Stop: All Bar One
Next up, All Bar One which is located on Grey Street, which is a five minute walk from No28, and a firm favourite for cocktails. All Bar One’s extensive mocktail menu mostly includes non-alcoholic versions of classic cocktails such as Daiquiris, Mojitos, an Espresso Martini and so much more.
Fourth Stop: Leila Lily’s
Keep on going down Grey Street and you will find the beautifully decorated Leila Lily’s. There, you will find a mocktail menu consisting of five mocktails, which are all priced at £6 each.
Fifth Stop: Lola Jeans
Lastly on our mocktail-crawl, we head back towards Monument as Lola Jeans is only a street or two away. It is also only a five minute walk from our last destination. Lola Jeans have a few mocktails on their menu, with excellent names such as Sober In The Garden and Something & Nothing. Prices for the mocktails start from £4.95.
