Buying a brand-new Christmas tree can be a yearly tradition for those who prefer a real, authentic tree. While others may be putting up and decorating the same artificial tree year after year, but fancy a change this Christmas.

A Christmas tree buying experience will be arriving in the North East this month, across two locations. The experience - appropriately named Step Into Xmas (after the Elton John song) - will give families an opportunity to browse and purchase from their extensive selection of Nordmann Fir Trees in all shapes and sizes. Customers will be greeted with a hot chocolate on arrival, further enhancing the festive feel.

Each tree has been grown with expertise by Christmas Tree supplier Galloway Woodlands and has been given a Christmas-themed name, taking inspiration from celebrities with Christmas hits such as Mariah and Elton. Decorations can also be purchased to perfectly complement your brand-new tree.

The locations where you will find Step Into Xmas are in the North East’s biggest shopping destination, the Metrocentre in Gateshead and Manor Walks in Cramlington. The experience will be at these locations from Thursday November 24 until Wednesday December 21.

Step Into Xmas have partnered with Metro Radio and Cash For Kids, who have collaborated on a special Christmas project, Mission Christmas Campaign. The campaign is a gift appeal for children who may not receive presents this year. Cash for Kids and Metro Radio will be raising money to provide gifts, while the public can also donate or purchase a gift from the Mission Christmas Campaign website that will go to these children.  An application on behalf of a child in need can be made to the appeal. Step Into Xmas will be donating £2 from the sale of each tree to the cause. Metro Radio’s Steve and Karen will also be giving away trees donated by Step Into Xmas on their breakfast show.

Metro Radio Breakfast show presenter Steve Furnell commented: “Karen and I love the run in to Christmas on the show. The Christmas songs always get us going, and every morning we get to hear how excited our listeners are for the big day arriving. To be partnering up with Step Into Xmas this year is the fairy on top of the tree. Just by contacting the show and chatting with us on air you could be winning one of their luxury real trees and have it delivered to your home.

"It is also great to see them supporting our charity Cash For Kids, with much needed donations going towards the Mission Christmas campaign."
