Standing out from the crowd of Geordie watering holes is a tricky task but one Newcastle pub has done exactly that as they were named regional winners at the Pub & Bar Awards this week.

Leila Lily’s, on the city centre’s Grey Street, puts a unique spin on a traditional pub and restaurant as they offer a ‘5 in 1’ dining experience.

Fabian Pritchard, Group Business Development Manager at the Malhotra Group which owns Leila Lily’s, said: “Leila Lily’s is a unique concept with what is the only 5-in-1 offering in the city centre.

“We have a rosette award-winning restaurant, 4-star boutique hotel, award winning cocktail bar, late-night lounge and Beauty Spa.

“The bar is named after the owner’s daughter and symbolises his dedication to operating within his strong family values.

“Leila’s is more than just a name, it is part of the family legacy and every success or failure is attached to his daughter.

“This is the main motivation that encourages everyone here at Leila’s  to raise the bar and maintain standards which have paid off with the following accolades which we have achieved in such a short space of time.”

Leila Lily’s were awarded a rosette after just six months of opening and, having weathered the pandemic and lockdowns, now receive the Pub & Bar Award for being the best in the North East.

“It is always a fulfilling moment for everyone involved to be recognised on a national scale for the hard work that is put in day in day out by everyone involved.”

The restaurant prides itself on being the only one in the city to own a Mibrasa Charcoal oven, which is used to infuse dishes with a smoky barbeque taste.

On the à la carte menu, customers wanting to try a dish from the Mibrasa oven can pick from a number of charcoal steaks or luxury Chateaubriand and Weeping Tiger Tomahawk sharing options.

Also on the menu are dishes such as a Herb Crusted Rump of Lamb and a Pan-Fried Fillet of Salmon, alongside much more.

There’s an extensive cocktail, lunch, afternoon tea and function menu too.

Leila Lily’s is open from 12 pm to 11 pm every day.
