The seven best bakeries in Newcastle- where to go for bread and pastries
and live on Freeview channel 276
Newcastle has so many options when it comes to sweet treats and baked goods.
Maybe you don’t need to tell you my favourite places to go when you’re in need of some fresh bread, pastries or desserts.

So, in no particular order, here are my absolute favourite bakeries in Newcastle.
Pink Lane Bakery
Pink Lane has been a staple for so many years. And with sites in the city centre, Gosforth and Jesmond it’s never been easier to get your hands on some of their amazing bakes. My current go-to is their raspberry crumble danish. Just so good.
Batch
On Clayton Road in Jesmond, Batch specialises in the most incredible croissants with so many different flavours. They also have great savoury options so there’s something for everyone.
Northern Rye

Big River Bakery
Big River Bakery is a bakery with a difference. Yes, it serves incredible stotties- a must for any proper Geordie bakery- but it also runs as a social enterprise, helping the local community. Such a great cause to support and their bakes are really good too.
Pet Lamb Patisserie
Hidden in the Grainger Market, Pet Lamb Patisserie specialises in cakes, cookies and brownies. It’s the perfect place to go when you’re in town and fancy a little treat.
FAB Bakery
With branches in Fenham and Gosforth, FAB serves up amazing and original bakes. I mean, have you ever seen a croissant in the shape of a cube before? If you fancy something different, it’s definitely one to add to your list.

It wouldn’t be a list of the best bakeries in Newcastle without a mention of the holy grail that is Greggs. Yes, you won’t get the fanciest or trendiest sweet treats in the world. But there’s so much comfort in knowing exactly what you’re going to get- and how amazing it’s going to be.
