Jason Cook

You may remember South Shields comedian Jason Cook from his short-lived BBC comedy or his appearance playing Jacob the Baker in the Jacob’s Crackers TV advert. Cook’s humour most includes jokes about the North East, that truly only residents of the area could understand. He hosts a monthly comedy club at theatre venue, The Customs House in South Shields, where he and other comedians across the country entertain the audience for two nights.

Sammy Dobson

Sammy Dobson began her career as an actress, starring in Byker Grove. She still continues to act but is better known these days for being a comedian. Dobson will be hosting a comedy night in Peterlee this Friday. Dobson was also part of the North East Comedy Hot House whose skits were uploaded to the Channel 4 YouTube channel. Dobson will be performing at comedy venue The Stand in Newcastle throughout December, in a family friendly show.

Friend to Chris Ramsey, Carl Hutchinson usually supports him on tour. But Hutchinson is a comedian in his own right, just finishing a successful 90-date tour at the end of October. Hutchinson currently doesn’t have any shows booked, but keep an eye on his social media for announcements!

Lauren Pattison

Lauren Pattison is a comedian, actor and writer. She is incredibly proud of coming from the North East, referencing it in her routines and proudly wearing t-shirts about the North East on promotional images. Throughout her career, Pattison has had plenty of television appearances, showcasing her comedic talent. She now hosts a weekly podcast named Conversations Against Living Miserably. She has supported the likes of Katherine Ryan on tour. Pattison is currently coming to the end of her 2022 tour It Is What It Is.

Louise Young

Louise Young is certainly one to watch. She recently supported both Alan Carr and Tom Allen on tour. She, alongside Sammy Dobson, was part of the North East Comedy Hot House for Channel 4 writing and performing skits. She has a show coming to The Stand in Newcastle next year on March 14.
