Jesmond is one of Newcastle’s most popular areas.
A stomping ground for students, young professionals and families, the suburb is just a stone’s throw from the city centre.
With Jesmond Dene, shops and markets, so many pass through the area on weekends for a stroll, shop or bite to eat.
But how much do you think has changed in 100 years?
Well, according to these 13 historic photos of Jesmond, not very much.
Here we have scenes from the Sunday market, the Dene and the various streets throughout Jesmond.
We also have a scene from the Hoppings, which used to take place in Jesmond Vale before moving to the Town Moor.
