Let's look back at life in Newcastle in 1960 and 1961.

Were you alive to experience Newcastle in 1960 or 1961, or do you just enjoy looking through photos of the city's history?

Here we have 17 depicting the early years of the 1960s, the decade of The Beatles, second wave feminism and cultural change.

The city is recognisable, however a lot has changed over the 60 years that have passed. For starters, Ouseburn is now a cultural hub full of bars and artist studios.

So let's dive in and look through Newcastle's past.
