How much has changed in Newcastle since 1965?
Here we have 19 incredible photos depicting life in the city 59 years ago.
For starters, Newcastle United's home ground St James' Park looks very different. In 1965, the Magpies finished top in the Second Division.
Elsewhere in the city, Northumberland Street and Eldon Square were still open to traffic and Paddy's Market still happened on Saturdays.
Thanks to Newcastle Libraries for these amazing photographs.
