Metro Inns, on Ponteland Road, has been brought to the market by Christie & Co for an asking price of £2million.

The purpose-built 63-bedroom hotel is less than two minutes drive away from the A1 at the Kenton Bar Interchange and it situated halfway between Newcastle city centre and Newcastle International Airport.

Due to its location, the hotel boasts excellent transport links and provides an ideal location for both leisure and business guests.

According to the listing agent, the hotel has reported "solid profits" of over £300,000.

It currently belongs to a small group of hotels, which have been operated by a private owner for 15 years.

David Lee, regional director at Hotels North who is managing the sales process, has urged those who are interested in the hotel to get in touch.

Christie & Co has advised that any potential new owner could undertake a refurbishment program of the property as a way of increasing the average daily rate (ADR).
