We are so happy to see a local lad doing so well and representing the north on national TV. We have decided to take a look back on Chris Ramsey’s career and journey to success.
The Beginning
Chris began his career around 2007, performing in North East venues. After his Offermation tour in 2011, which went on to be nominated for a Edinburgh Comedy Award, he starts to reach a wider audience.

BBC’s Hebburn
Chris is cast as the main star Jack Pearson in this comedy series set and filmed in the real-life Tyne and Wear area of Hebburn. The show aired on BBC Two and ran for two series and a Christmas special. The show was created and written by fellow geordie, Jason Cook.

I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp
After a few TV jobs and appearances, Chris lands the exciting job presenting I’m A Celebrity’s spin-off show, Extra Camp in 2016, alongside Joe Swash, Stacey Soloman and Vicky Pattison.

In 2017, Chris gets his own show on Comedy Central, where he and other comedians and celebrity guests play games, and have general banter. The show ran for two series.
Sh**ged, Married, Annoyed
In the most successful career move of his career, Chris alongside his wife Rosie start a podcast where they discuss married life, their annoyances with the public and each-other, disturbing yet hilarious stories and everything in between. The podcast still continues to air every Friday, is now multi-award winning, and has had a book and a live tour come from it. Chris and Rosie will embark on a second tour of the podcast in 2023.

Strictly Come Dancing
In 2019, Chris was cast in the line-up for Strictly Come Dancing. Partnered with professional dancer Karen Hauer, he became a favourite among fans of the show and reached the semi-finals and finished in fourth place.

Little Mix: The Search
A great representation for South Shields (as two members of Little Mix are also from the seaside town), as Chris presented the live shows of Little Mix’s brand-new BBC talent competition in 2020, Little Mix: The Search.

In November of 2020, Chris signed on as one of the presenters for the televised charity event Children In Need, which has helped disadvantaged children and young people in the UK since 1980. Chris presented again in 2021, and is set to do so for the third time, this year.

The Chris and Rosie Ramsey Show
Earlier this year, Chris and his wife Rosie got their own show as a couple on BBC. In a similar format to their successful podcast with hilarious segments throughout, but alongside a different celebrity couple each week. The was a hit with fans, and has already been commissioned for series two! Series one is still available to watch on BBCiPlayer.
Alongside all of the above, Chris has appeared in numerous TV game shows and panel shows, as well as performing eight successful stand up tours across the UK.
Children In Need will be on BBC One and BBCiPlayer on November 18.
