'Always loved' - Newcastle United star linked with move away posts inspirational future message

Newcastle United take on Chelsea in the Premier League this afternoon. Kick off 2pm.

No one has been linked with a move away from Newcastle United more than skipper Bruno Guimaraes in recent times, it seems.

Fans welcomed in the summer with wall-to-wall Bruno exit talk, with the player having a supposed release clause in his new deal, signed last year, and concrete interest from Premier League champions Manchester City.

However, no move materialised, be that because no one wanted to pay the money, or the player deciding to remain on Tyneside. Either way, Guimaraes was rewarded for his brilliant two and a half years at St James’ Park with the captaincy, taking it off Jamaal Lascelles and Kieran Trippier.

And while it was welcomed, things haven’t exactly gone perfectly to plan.

Newcastle United have struggled this season at times, losing only twice, but failing to get close to matching their levels of last season, or the one before.

And the Brazilian’s form has also dipped, it’s fair to say, although, he, with those around him, slowly finding a way to dominate games, even if goals have eluded them in recent times.

Taking to social media, Guimaraes always paints a positive character, sharing family snaps with his sons and wife as well as friends such as Lucas Paqueta and Joelinton.

And this week, he’s decided to send a message of positivity via his Instagram.

The message reads: “I’ve always loved the idea of not being what people expect me to be.”

Guimaraes will be hoping to do the unexpected on Sunday afternoon when Newcastle head to Stamford Bridge to take on Champions League-chasing Chelsea in the Premier League.

The Magpies has not scored a goal from open play in their last four games in all competitions;.
