An Evening with Alan Shearer: Win the chance to meet the Newcastle United legend

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer will be in conversation at the Tyne Theatre and Opera House later in the year and the venue is giving fans a chance to win two VIP tickets.

An Evening with Alan Shearer will grant people insight into the life and career of the record-breaking footballer through a live and unscripted interview.

And there are two VIP tickets- worth over £300- up for grabs for two lucky fans. The prize includes a pre-show professional photo with Shearer himself.

The Tyne Theatre & Opera House has launched this charity draw in aid of refurbishing their stage machinery. As one of the only theatres in the UK with working Victorian stage machinery, the National Lottery Heritage Fund granted funding for a year-long programme titled ‘The Drury Lane of the North’. This programme included re-installing previously lost stage machinery, which has been more costly than anticipated.

All funds from the campaign will go towards materials, such as rope, ironwork and timber for the ongoing restoration of the unique stage machinery. With entries only costing £3 each, the lucky winners will have a chance of a lifetime whilst helping a local Grade I listed local venue.

Jo Johnson, theatre director, commented: “We are thrilled to be offering two lucky people the chance to meet Alan Shearer for a very reduced price as part of our prize draw. As a charity, we rely on funding and every pound makes a difference. We’re honoured to host Alan Shearer, especially as we are situated so close to St James Park – it’s a real hometown show, with the money raised from our charity draw going towards our wonderful cause.”

Entering the prize draw costs £3 per entry, with a maximum of three entries per person.

The draw closes at 9:30am on Monday 31 st August, with the winner being randomly selected the week commencing Monday 4 th September.
