Award-winning Billy Joel show to perform at Newcastle O2 City Hall

Following two huge sell-out tours, award-winning show The Billy Joel Songbook is set to embark on yet another tour in 2024, with a visit to Newcastle on their list of locations.

The show, which pays tribute to work of one of the most iconic and influential musicians, Billy Joel, who is best known tracks include ‘Piano Man’, ‘Vienna’, and ‘Uptown Girl’, among many other huge hits, is courtesy of singer-songwriter and pianist Elio Pace, who is joined by an incredibly talented band.

Elio Pace is no stranger to performing, having showcased his incredible talent alongside the likes of Brian May, Huey Lewis, Lulu, Gilbert O’Sullivan, Don McLean and many more.

He has also worked behind the scenes in the music and performing industry for many years as a musical director.

Elio has also performed with Billy Joel’s original 1971-1972 touring band, in five special reunion concerts which took place in the USA.

Speaking about The Billy Joel Songbook, Elio explained: “We all get such a buzz touring this show so we absolutely cannot wait to get back out on the road.

“We have an amazing tour in place returning to theatres while also visiting some for the first time, and to be starting in my hometown and then ending in London’s West End is going to be pretty incredible.

“The music of Billy Joel is timeless. He is a genius composer and, in my humble opinion, the greatest singer/songwriter of all-time. I really do feel humbled that so many people want to see us perform his music.

“We can’t wait to celebrate this incredible music once again and we’ll now look forward to travelling across the country next spring.”

The show will be at Newcastle’s O2 City Hall on Saturday, March 30 2024, with tickets for the show on sale from 10am this Friday, September 1.

The Billy Joel Songbook show is billed as ‘the greatest love letter ever to the genius that is Billy Joel’ and will take the audience through the catalogue of Billy Joel’s music.
