Four talented emerging R&B artists will be taking part in the special tour Everything R&B Live, hosted by BBC Radio 1 Xtra’s R&B specialist and presenter Ace. The tour will see the unsigned artists visit all four of their respective home cities in the UK this November alongside five special guests.

One of the four new artists is Maxine, a singer-songwriter from Newcastle. Her main music style is R&B and Soul. Maxine arrived on the R&B scene in 2020 with her debut single Frontline, which was dedicated to the frontline workers and all of their hard work during the pandemic. Her most recent track is a dance track named Duze. Thanks to Maxine, Everything R&B Live will arrive in Newcastle on Monday, November 21 and will take place at live music venue, The Lubber Fiend.

“We had a staggering amount of submissions from so many incredible R&B artists and vocalists from all over the UK and If I could take them all on tour with us I would but, we’ve managed to whittle it down to a number we believe not only showcases the amazing R&B talent we have in the UK, but also shines a light on the underrepresented cities making outstanding R&B music throughout the UK. I’m so excited to be bringing the first Everything R&B Tour to the masses, it’s going to be a moment you won’t want to miss,” said Radio 1 Xtra’s Ace.

Joining the new artists on the tour are five special guests, including another Newcastle based artist, Jamilah who has been making music since 2017. Her newest track is called Not My Only.

Everything R&B Live has been designed to give the new artists a chance to develop their talent, alongside their knowledge of the industry and connect with those already within it. It is also a chance for them to be discovered by new audiences.

Yaw Owusu and Ray Paul, the people behind the production company The Playmaker Group, designed and developed the tour. Owusu said: “R&B music creators and audiences in the UK have both been under-represented and under-served within mainstream offers of Black Music so we are really excited to kick off Everything R&B Live with Ace. This project will give both the artists and the audience an authentic experience that is not just going to be top quality but an eye-opening education whilst contributing to the growth of the new R&B scene in the UK.”

Tickets for Everything R&B Live can be purchased here for £6.
