B&M has announced a refit and expansion to its Gateshead Retail World store.

B&M has revealed that it is expanding and refitting its Retail World store, in Gateshead’s Team Valley.

The discount retailer says that the store will be “much bigger and better” for customers after they provided feedback to say that they wanted a larger shop.

The refurbishment has seen B&M take over the former Poundland store next door to create a combined ground floor sales area of 26,705 sq ft.

It means that customers will have an even bigger selection of bargains from big brands across a variety of shopping departments.

The store manager at Gateshead said: “Our colleagues have been working really hard to get the store looking fantastic for opening day, we are so excited to show customers the new & improved B&M store.”

The company is promising customers a wide selection of food, drink, pet food, health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games and more.

Staff at the Gateshead store were asked to nominate a local charity that they think deserve recognition and they have selected the Changing Lives Charity.

The organisation works with people who are experiencing homelessness through their hostels and day centres in an effort to change their lives for the better.

As a result, the team from Changing Lives will officially open the new B&M store on Saturday, October 28, at 8am.
