Wright Music and Management, which is owned by South Shields musician Sam Thomas, have partnered up with Gosforth pub The Northumbrian Piper to give aspiring performers a chance to perform in front of an audience.

The open mic night will take place on Thursday February 2, and is open to all ages. People under the age of 18 who choose to perform will do so in a time slot between 6pm and 8pm. Those aged 18 and over, will perform in the following time slot, between 8pm and 10.30pm. As is the case with most open mic nights, each performer is entitled to a free drink.

The open mic night was announced via the social media of Wright Music and Management, who uploaded a poster advertising the event. The company also explained in a comment to an interested member of the public that the event will not be a one-off, as it will take place on the first Thursday of every month.
