Newcastle’s Hard Rock Cafe will be hosting a special themed brunch next month, to celebrate the music that shaped the 1990s.

The Bottomless Britpop Brunch will honour Britpop culture, the huge influence it had on music fans in the 1990s, and the bands that played a huge part in it.

The brunch will include 90 minutes of bottomless drinks (beer, cider, wine and prosecco will be available), table appetisers and a main course, and live entertainment.

The live entertainment will include DJ sets, as well as an acoustic performance from the UK’s leading Britpop tribute band, The National Anthems.

North Tyneside based band The National Anthems will perform a set of iconic tunes from the Britpop era - originally by the likes of Oasis, Blur, The Stone Roses, The Verve and Happy Mondays. However, The National Anthems deliver the set in their own unique style, in the form of a laid-back acoustic set.

Jon Corbett, lead singer of The National Anthems, said: "Bring out those maracas and shake your tambourines, we’re coming for you Hard Rock.

"It’s our first time performing here, so we’ll be putting on a show for you man. Hard Rock is an amazing venue and we can’t wait to hit the stage for an afternoon of Britpop indie madness and a load of classics. I’ve heard the Champagne Supernova cocktail is mega!"

Jordon Ditchburn, a spokesperson for Hard Rock Cafe Newcastle, said: “Hard Rock Cafe Newcastle are extremely excited to welcome The UKs number one Britpop tribute The National Anthems to host one of our very first Bottomless Brunch events.

“HRCN are striving to bring more unique live music experiences to Newcastle. We feel that it’s very important to work with local artists and support the local music scene. Customers can expect fully themed food menus and themed cocktails.”

They added: “We have a whole programme of themed events and brunches to look forward to covering a range of different genres.”

The Bottomless Britpop Brunch will take place on Sunday, April 23, at Newcastle’s Hard Rock Cafe. The event will begin at 4pm.

Tickets for the event are available to purchase now, and are priced at £40 per person. You can buy a ticket from the Hard Rock Cafe Newcastle website.
